A few weeks ago, in the early hours of the morning, I prayed a specific prayer. I asked God to give us some good news about Sarah today! I was very worried about her health and wanted desperately to have her home. In my mind the good news I hoped to get was a call from Holt saying we had received the approval for her providence. But, a few hours later I got a call from a good friend from church. Julie had also been praying in the early hours of the morning and was praying for our family and our adoption process. She told me that during her prayer time she had a unique idea. She wanted to throw our family a prayer shower. Neither one of us had a concrete idea of what that would be like. But, what it turned out to be was a wonderful evening, blessed with good friends gathered around to pray for our little Sarah and our family. Prayers for her health, our waiting, and God's perfect timing to bring her home.
God had answered my prayer for good news that day. It wasn't exactly what I had prayed for but God knew exactly what I needed.
Later that week we got a report, not that our application was approved, :( but that Sarah had been checked out by a nutrition specialist and that her health seems to be improving. Thank you God! And thanks to all that prayed with us at the shower and those who prayed for us other places.
